big fox by tourmaline-83
big fox
A silver whitemark fox I got for myself for Christmas (just been too lazy to post a pic until now, lol). It is looooooong. Creepy, the pearl cross seen with it, was my largest fox (that's a coyote skull attached to it). Maybe it's just a difference in tanning/stretching but, yeah. Big fox. (muskycowboy on eBay has some awesome pelts)

Wow! Digital painting again! Not as hard to get back into as I thought it would be. Actually, my time away from the tablet has probably taken away some of my previous perceptions about how to do things. It's working out well, so far!

This is a portrait of my dog I want to eventually print out and frame up. I think it's a perfect representation of her and I'm doing my best to capture her soul in this painting. Still a work in progress but I wanted to share. Don't need critiques just yet as I'd say it's probably only 5% done, LoL *faint*

I think I'm still going to tweak the color a bit, possibly adding a blue tinge, but here's a WIP shot of it painted. The character of the stone is popping now with the dark paint, yah? :)

Interested in having a skull carved for your very own? Note me!

Fox explosion by tourmaline-83
Fox explosion
Careful what you wish for? My room has...ah...exploded with foxes. And this picture doesn't include my puppets.
From the left over: a huge red fox I can only assume is from Alaska; my newest, a red arctic marble cross who has the most remarkable pinks and cinnamon colors (go check out muskycowboy on Ebay); two wild cross foxes; a moon glow (or cross-fire); a scrawny silver; and a pearl (from FrontierFurs). Behind all of them is a coyote and UNDERNEATH all that is a black bear and a reindeer, LoL!

Asymmetrical Coyote by tourmaline-83
Asymmetrical Coyote
New skull I'm working on. I'm trying to get the carving, at least, done by tonight. As the title indicates, it features carvings that simply flow from the top of one side of the skull to the lower part of the other side, instead of mirroring each other like my previous skulls. It will also have a lovely turquoise cabochon that has some sort of dark stone with what looks like quartz mixed in.

Hello everyone! First, thank you so much for visiting my page and leaving such wonderful comments. <3

I am in Colorado but grew up in woodsy Wisconsin. I am always picking up little treasures: rocks, bones, bugs, feathers. As a young adult I took taxidermy classes, biology courses (anything involving dead things, dissection, etc.). I had wanted to become a taxidermist but found I lacked space, tools, and mostly money. One thing, however, that I am super interested in and that does not require a taxidermist license is skulls! So, I jumped on that, searched around for information about carving, painting, etc. and what you see in my gallery is what I've created.

Many inspirational artists can be found on the web nowadays, thankfully, and several of them I found myself right here. I encourage everyone who is visiting to take a peek at all the wonderful groups that have been created here. The list is quite exhausting!

Thanks again for visiting! <3

**I cannot do international sales, sorry!**

I've had a lot of questions concerning the price of my puppets, and I've decided to try and nail it down a bit. For me, it's hard to put a price on the puppets because, besides materials, the bulk of the price is the yield of my skill and time. These are also still very new to me as well, so I'm still perfecting the technique. Something to note, also: everyone may have a different way of holding the skull/controlling the jaw movement. There is a basic way, which I'll illustrate for anyone who purchases a puppet from me, but you will have to find the way that's comfortable for you. With me, for instance, my right arm gets fatigued extremely fast when I use Misfit so I have to use my left, whereas, with Creepy, my right arm is the only one strong enough to hold him up and move that heavy head. I am very open to tweaking things for anyone who has suggestions once they try theirs for the first time :)

Now, on to pricing. A nonrefundable down-payment of $150 is required no matter what kind of puppet you order. I will take payment plans of no less than 20%/month. For example, if you buy a puppet that totals $425, you will pay $85/month until it's paid off. If a monthly payment is missed (the last day of that particular month) I will add a $5 penalty. I will refund any money paid, excluding the down-payment, if the order is cancelled. If you'd rather have the materials than the money, I can mail any that are paid for for the cost of shipping. ***This is of concern to me, however, for good reason: if you decide you want a ranch fox pelt (or any piece of the puppet) that costs an exorbitant amount, I may have you purchase it yourself. I don't like the idea of being stuck with a $200 pelt that I've paid for myself and my buyer has decided to back out.***

I've decided that Misfit is my basal design/cost and I value her at $425. So, if you provide your own pelt I will charge half of this to start. If you provide all your own materials, i.e. pelt, skull, stone/gem (if you want one), antlers/horns, I will charge the basal half for carving, painting, and assemblage. Pretty good deal, I think! :)

Bottom line, I'll charge what the materials cost to obtain, including shipping. The rest is up to my own discretion where it pertains to time, intricacy of carving, sewing and general assemblage. (prices also do not include shipping)

I am very open to suggestions!
Thank you for your understanding and I hope this helps everyone in their decision making!
